Please support the Durbin amendment to the Defense bill. 

It is of the utmost importance that we repudiate torture and support the Geneva Conventions, for several reasons:

1. The basic human decency and compassion for which we Americans stand tell us that torture is never acceptable
2. As the leader of the free world, we must lead by example
3. The Geneva Conventions protect **OUR** troops
4. Even John Ashcroft and Donald Rumsfeld admit that torture is not an effective interrogation method.
